In truth, I think most people are unwilling, or incapable of accepting what is happening. So, like the band on the Titanic, many are just keeping a smile on and continuing to play their tune. I am not sure that is a good approach to current affairs.

I feel like everyone is acting like the orchestra on the Titanic. Everyone knows that the ship is going down, and nobody is going to save us. So, we are all just puttering along with a smile pretending, trying to play a happy tune, until the end inevitably comes.
