Here in Scotland, we've been providing free baby boxes for a few years now. I first heard of it being done in Finland. I speak for everyone I know, regardless of citizenship, and we're delighted to see how US mid terms have gone. Hope returns to us all. Congratulations, Mr.Mayor.

I understand this, and many of the other posts. Listen to "I'm so scared of dying" by Del Amitri. Me going first and her having to deal with my shit left behind. Then listen to "Losing the will to die" by them as the antidote. My love to all those who have lost partners.

Spring is sprung,
The sky is blue,
And my bike handles,
Like a bent H2.

What a selection of bikes, eh?

And you - if only 1 chap last night spends a few minutes fumbling, then that's a win. Thanks for sharing such a personal experience, & making a subject many try to avoid an evening of mixed emotions - a lot of humour, some concern, some awareness & above all gratitude. Try not to go anywhere soon,eh?

Superb. I love how the convergence of data from traditionally disparate sources, previously unable to be connected is transforming policy, public services and our approach to community. Smart Data Foundry get >5m de-identified bank accounts weekly, the insights that data provides is a great overlay.

I did see someone once get a Secret Santa gift of a tube of Vagisil, because everyone thought they were an irritating c***.

My Mother's Handbag by Chris Difford ( of Squeeze, if you know them ). It's beautiful. After my Mother passed, I couldn't listen to it for a couple of years.

Sad, though not surprising, reading. Meta have a whole lot to answer for, from the type of content you mention to blatantly ignoring screamingly obvious scams and scammers on Facebook. I regularly report scammers, all of whom Meta say they've checked and have no issues with. Appalling.

@alancumming.bsky.social - but we do celebrate the birth of our most revered hero, Oor Wullie. In an almost grace-like state, we repeat the words of faith and belief we have in him:
"Oor Wullie, your Wullie, a'body's Wullie". Then we genuflect, spin round twice, and do the splits.
