Nice mirror on Fen Drayton lakes

Just spent a fab few days in Grasmere. View from our porch and view of our house from Silverhowe (250m up).

Nice spot for lunch on the Ouse way. Also had a wander round the Holt island reserve in St Ives. Glorious day!

Fulbourn fen in full glory. And there’s a cuckoo singing - first this spring for me.

Cycled put to Wicken Fen today - glorious warm early spring day with everything greening up. Saw the sails turning on the windmill so went and checked it put and got to see the mechanisms in action. They make great flour and it’s what I mostly bake bread with.

Lots of snowdrops out at Fulbourn wood. Bit past their prime and the aconites mostly done. But still glorious!

Bright clear day here, but chilly. Cycled out to Kingfishers Bridge and there was still a lot of frost on the ground and ice in the ditches.

So for my first post, here are a few pics from my ride out to St Ives and Fen Drayton lakes. Light is getting a bit thin and low as autumn runs out.
