Is the implication here that this is not a thing with people?

Good thought! Let’s hope.

The score on that one was (killed): settlers-358 and volunteers-113; Warriors-150 (38 executed), surely regretted by all.

Well.. it’s common knowledge that great ideas can come from despicable people and despicable ideas can come from great people. That’s pretty much the way it is.

As everywhere else, self-worth and job security are the issues. Luddites and xenophobics will always be with us.

Polar bears are bears, right everybody knows what bears do in the woods… but the question is what do bears do if there’s no woods?

There’s a rumor going around that he moved everything to the South Pole because the northern hemisphere was going to hell in a handbasket!

Wait a minute, we males always know where we’re going. It’s just sometimes that we have so many ways we’ve come up with to get there and it takes a little time to sort them out.

All right then.. does Rudolph having a red nose mean anything?

Absolutely beautiful! Now nothing stands in the way to find more treasures.

Yes, the US has more silos (Russia too), but all bunched together. A first strike could take them out. Trump could spread them out.. give each county in the United States one silo.. everyone might feel better maybe? At least North Dakota, Wyoming, Nebraska, Montana, and Colorado certainly would!

Might be pessimistic, but the human species is likely the only species on earth that tries its best to eradicate itself.

Perhaps the correct headline is “ Elon Musk becomes first person to own pieces of paper that say someone would pay $700 billion for these pieces of paper after court ruling on pay package”. But it’s probably too long of a headline for the editor.

Whoa.. that would surely explain a lot of things… means that the wave function of the universe is a measure of stupidity.. and an observable!
December 20, 2025 at 5:11 PM
There’s a fine line between having an esoteric discussion and gibberish.
December 20, 2025 at 5:02 PM
Would this mean that there are universes full of people doing the same stupid stuff?

Probably be more reassuring to turn off the water to the house when you leave the house.

Interestingly, the drill system was established in the Tokugawa Period schools.

A possible explanation for all this is that humans are likely the only species on earth that create their own crises. The US is particularly adept at this. Seems like a real good problem for research.
December 13, 2025 at 6:05 AM
On the grand scale, all that is happening is the natural process of expansion and contraction of a society. The US is not immune to this process. It will either go smooth, or most likely, not - of course a constitutional convention to do some repairs might help smooth the disruption somewhat.

Actually, it’s a benefit. You get to sleep at night.

The middle ages model of a university seems to be fading. Knowledge can be passed on virtually. All that is needed is a communication device and an interested student; albeit finding such seems to be the real problem.

Check out Star Trek’s timeline to find out what happened.

Roughly it would take 25,000 engineers working for 10 years at $150 average rate to get to $77 billion. Sounds like a giant depreciation of “Goodwill.”

Lucky him! He gets to work for Larry Ellison.
