I revisited Costner’s HORIZON recently. Rich in being, patient and relaxed, yet so purposeful. Small, detailed strokes on an enormous canvas. We should herald this huge creative swing from Costner in the same way we do late-stage Scorsese, Spielberg & Coppola. Messy and beautiful.

I rewatched Gore Verbinski’s PIRATES OF THE CARIBBEAN movies recently and they are ASTOUNDINGLY well made - I have literally no idea how they conceived of, let alone brought to life most of the designs and choreography.
Added bonus that the ensemble is one of the best of the century.

The first 20-30 minutes of the original Star Wars are essentially a buddy-road movie between two robots, one of whom doesn't even speak, and the other is a catty bitch.
