I’m #ex-x now, ex-Republican, exvangelical. I grew up in a small Texas town, but I pee indoors and drive a compact car. Maybe that foretold my defection.
Just another nit to pick: Of course I liked the scene with Holly and her friends taking over the gaming table but what if they boxed up the tabletop games and unboxed an Atari or Nintendo? That would have been a twist of the knife, a bittersweet reminder of changing times.

A lot of Gen X kids read Mrs Frisby and the Rats of NIMH and wondered if Cornelius escaped or if he was one of the dead rats. It may have been another homage.I think such an ambiguous ending was the best possible conclusion her.

If I were to critique the lack of stakes/body count this season, I don’t know if there was away out. Fans had become so attached to each of the characters that killing any of them would have been too much. A good DM wouldn’t do it either because it’s supposed to be a game.

This season did have some faults. One of the major plot holes all season was that the government would have disappeared the entire party at the beginning and certainly after they shot so many people and destroyed government property.

Eleven’s ambiguous fate reminds me of Cornelius from Mrs Frisbee and the Rats of NIMH. I would bet a lot of people my age read that book wondering if he made or not. Though I think Eleven’s survival is the more likely of the two #Strangerthings

The biggest thing that keeps me up at night right now is still China and Taiwan. I’m not sure if anyone has looked at the price of RAM lately, but it’s astronomical.
American manufacturers are only making RAM for AI data centers now, so a war in Taiwan could cripple the global chip industry.

I just watched the segment on YouTube. I can see why Bari Weiss wanted to kill the story. People like her hide behind the idea of neutrality. The kind of neutrality they want is one that sacrifices objectivity in order to a reach a predetermined end.
