I use Rstudio 2024.12.1+563. In any case, after I manually installed and loaded all the packages, it seems I am able to use tidyverse, rstanarm, etc. #rstats

I manually installed all the packages mentioned after “DLL.” (in this instance, rbibutils). Why R did not install dependencies is beyond me. I checked the box “install dependencies” in Rstudio. But apparently it is not working.

2. When I tried to load packages tidyverse and rstanarm, I got tons of error messages.
Something like this:
"DLL ‘rbibutils’ not found: maybe not installed for this architecture?"

1. The R installer conflicted with Norton 360. Norton thinks it is a malicious program and tried to quarantine some files during installation. I kept getting error messages. I solved this issue by simply disabling all functionalities of Norton 360.

Yes, giving you problems in the real world is their welfare policy to prevent scientists from losing touch with reality. 🙂

To quants with the right kind of expertise: how do you control for “exposure” if you do the poll? Great cities with fewer residents and visitors may not make the list simply because of their limited visibility.
