Because a lot of us started out on other sites, we understand how fanfiction works. Meanwhile these new wave of people immediately go to AO3, and dont even realize that what they say is actually hurtful, and/or disrespectful to the author.

There is a huge reason as to why people say AO3 is for more mature users who already have a good grasp on the concept of fanfics, and thats because we KNOW how to treat fanfics, their authors, and the writing itself. Most people on AO3 started out on either fanfic. Net, tumblr, or even diviantart.

Sadly, there is an extreme new wave of AO3 users who dont know fanfic etiquette AT ALL, and it disappoints me so much :/. Im not mad about new users! Im more upset on how people treat fanfic writers and their stories. This is YOUR fic, YOUR story, and they have no right to tell you what to do w it.
