Thanks a bunch for this. I already have some experience with pixel art as i just adooore it in games. But i kind of feel like i hit a dead end where Im not really happy with it most of the time but have no idea how to improve 😵‍💫

Only way companies will react is if it hurts their bottom line

I meann John at least has a lot of value to say. But as anything, take it with a grain of salt. Of course Unity/Unreal/Godot have their value as well and creating a game engine is not for everyone.
