the files i messed eventually create tables (terraform). so not only can i fix the files witht he script, i can add code to test that those tables are good in the database! no writing 100 queries and running them tne updating a tracker, python does all of it.

some things tend to take hours of repeated steps. computers are fantastic at repeated steps! many programming languages have this thing called a for loop! then there are while loops and recursion (i think recursion is what is happening under the hood in for/while loops anyway but still)

programming makes time consuming repeated tasks trivial. and thats valuable just from time savinga alone.

I had to do some rework on like 100+ files cuz I spelled something wrong. It to 2 secs to fix. why? i wrote a luthon script to do the job originally. so it was just a matter of adjusting the script and rerunning it. this is the power of programming.

I started using VScode years ago. I made a workspace once. Today I'm going to learn about them for real to see if they cant help me manage working in multiple repos in parallel. A bunch of VScode windows (3 or more) done got old, even on a large 4k screen

regex has come in most handy in vscode search amd replace box. second most handy in deleting a bunch of local git braches like so in bash
git branch | grep "<regex here>" | xargs got branch -D
