The "internet" is just computers networked together - there was nothing to doubt. The unethical use of it is a different matter.

This humanising of AI isn't helping anyone. It's quite ridiculous to say "The offender is AI" when talking about GenAI. There is no capacity to offend. No intelligence. It is doing what it was built to do by companies with a lot of money. Blame the people there who made bad ethical choices.

It's amusing that when "AGI is here" wasn't enough they started suggesting "humans are really not that intelligent either" to make the gap seem smaller. I'm not convinced.

Parents are generally very bad at this. Even the technical parents that understand technology may not be able to explain critical thinking, why you should assume content is sometimes faked but always biased, and that's before you get into the always very awkward conversation on sexual exploitation.
