Chainsaw Man was good on its own, but made for a pretty weird double feature.

As is the case with so many things, they're holding onto good ideas! And then burying them under so much cover-your-legals and eye-grabbing short-sighted ideas that they lose their luster.

At least after all of these years I'm finally equipped to be a GAMER, allegedly

Either *only* early printings have this insert for a very time-limited download, or this'll be a wee downer for later buyers.

And I *love love love* having art and maps on the inside of the cover! They're completely illegible behind a Switch 2 box! Maybe this should've been the insert.

I get that it's marginally different than a native-to-Switch-2 game, but having "Nintendo Switch 2 Edition" on the spine is garish and illegible on an already-anemic space.

Relatedly: Objectively good that the back-of-box text is bilingual! But damn do you need a magnifying glass.

Weird off-the-cuff observations about the Pokémon Legends Z-A box, because it's a convergence of tiny things that irk me and are becoming increasingly common.

First off: A big ol' block of multilingual text (which is *not* line-separated by language) that feels like it belongs on the back?

My second-favorite aspect is the set design.

My favorite aspect of Alan Wake I so far is how deeply unapologetic it is in building out its own Definitely Legally Distinct version of Twin Peaks.

And *I Think* the last one on the list is Voidblazers.

Sorry to say that I failed to get the Playdate simulator working correctly for this one, so no direct impressions here, but it's clearly savvy enough to make the bundle's sizzle reel!

Back at this!

Cosmic Zephyr DX plays kinda like if a bonus stage from a Sonic game was also a bullet-heavy shmup. I'm pants at both those things, and the visuals can be a bit ambiguous, but honestly the gamefeel is so good that I was really vibing with this one.

Street Cleaning Day is a twin-stick where your second stick is automated by default, which focuses the play on how well you can dodge and kite nasty soap bubbles as Pizza Rat. An incremental upgrade system and endless mode has me hooked for better and for worse here.

This bundle is just great for Genre Mash-ups, really; how about a twin-stick *Metroidvania*?
MF-01 Aerostrike is mature enough for its own Steam listing, with a full campaign and three game modes. The enemies are bit meaty, but that allows space to experiment with inevitable upgrades:

I'm not as sure if KeyGunner qualifies since the controls are entirely a typing test, but it's interesting in how it doesn't confine itself to real dictionary words, making its tight attention economy very shump-ish.

Tetap Kacau is a neat lil' area defender with a lil' guy who just can't stop groovin' ahead. Nice little low-pressure option bolstered by a lovely BGM track.

I'm sure I'm playing "7 Days to Escape" wrong, since I mostly ended up wandering in circles and getting shot on sight by NPCs. An actively-developed *exploration-centric* twin-stick is intriguing, though, and there's seemingly enough here to beget dedicated fans and... a farming system?

The Raxxnorian Alliance is the most over-the-plate of the lot so far, but appears to be in an unfinished state. Amusingly, this means you can potentially rack up an infinite score while it loops back on itself. Also features a festive winter level for your trouble.

Antecrypt - a "one-stick shooter" - is completely about positioning and maintaining a straight line between you, your targets, and a reticle that bounces around like a DVD screensaver. Takes a bit to get the hang of, but bottomless retries and quick respawns make it very "one more go".

Starting with RotoForce!

Nice little take on a twin-stick shooter where you manage the inside of the field rather than the outside. But most importantly, you can play as a slug in a UFO. Definitely one of those that hits tri-tone retro-portable aesthetics without worrying about vintage constraints.

I do love me a tight little one-session game, and a solid comedy act. Sam & Max kinda feels like if the Muppets did a PG-13 detective serial in that way.

...Jim Henson Co., get on that.
