I might be wrong but fairly sure that's why it can do some stuff so fast, i.e. sends each image in a collection to a separate processor, but I've suffered with GEE in the past. @jamesmlea.bsky.social is my go to guy for GEE problems!

To create a single histogram, or one for each image in the collection? For the latter I think the problem is that an imagecollection treats each image independently. To have all values accessible at once doesn't sound like something gee would be good at (?)

In weather we find out we are wrong quickly & frequently to broadly diagnose what's going wrong (& can do data assimilation). Hard to know if ice sheet model tuned to recreate 30-50 yr of surface vel/elev is projecting accurately, much less whether it's due to rheology, subglacial hydrology etc?

Begs the question whether the bacteria knows the kind of beef that it's on!

I thought it was due to the vast majority of the bacteria being on the surface of steak, not within it. Once it's minced you don't know what was on the outside and so needs cooking through.

These comments are frustrating and, frankly, simplistic. Erasmus requires freedom of movement: self evidently a much much larger battle to pick with the electorate. The Swiss tried playing around the edges of Erasmus and got booted out and now bankroll their own scheme at major cost per student.

Tbh I think we're in danger of nice things should be free territory here. My point is that 20£ is similar to bus, lunch, petrol costs of a family day out. Walking is free ofc but walking on possibly the busiest, most-eroded paths in the UK isn't "normal" walking & requires tools not used elsewhere.

I've come to the idea that not all models are digital twins, but all digital twins are (at their core) models. Seems to me that proponents of digital twins more often talk more about how they are used, rather than what they _are_.

Heck, for four adults it's cheaper to drive than get the bus up!

Sorry, but £20 split between a full car for an otherwise free day out on maintained paths isn't on the "only for the rich" page

What is the mechanism for limiting numbers tho? Fairly sure PyP carpark is run by local gov/national park - not sure if it's profiteering&maintaining a mountain is £££. Imo also stretch to argue prices at a congested, prime carpark is an affordability+access issue when there are low traffic options

I think generating a "fuck that" reaction is kinda part of the point though? It's so crowded already. Besides the point but the mountain is free - parking isn't.
