I would have been proud to work for NPR, and I'm proud to have worked for the AP and Gannett. The continuing assault on the media - from the government and VC funds - is disheartening and truly scary.

And the loss of The Late Show amidst a lawsuit and a merger is... chilling.

I think a lot about when I nearly worked for NPR out of college, and someone at church asked me "What are you? Some kind of commie?"

NPR and PBS are as close to the most neutral news sources available, and they provide a dear service for so many. Taking away their funding is truly anti-American.
