SNAP increased from $60.38 billion in 2019 to $79.16 bn in 2020. This was during Trump's first Term and during Covid. Under Biden, and further into the pandemic, it increased to $113 bn in 2021, $119bn in 2022, $113 bn in 2023, and dropped to $100 bn in 2024 as the pandemic ended.

Republicans who depend on SNAP are curiously quiet about this claim. Could it be because they know it's a lie and calling it out would reveal that they knowing support a fraud and it would reveal their hypocrisy?

Somehow, I sense that if we surveyed white Republicans dependent on foodstamps that they would all claim SNAP wasn't just "given" to them, and perhaps also a strained chorus of claims that they deserve benefits, but others (curiously high numbers of Dems and POC), don't.

Anyone who has ever applied for or depended on food stamps can tell you that they don't hand them out to everyone. There are strict eligibility guidelines and the system is designed to kick people off food stamps. But sure, let's listen to the fraud born with the solid gold spoon in his mouth.
