Hi, I'm a hobbyist gamedev! I occasionally also do artsy stuff and try to learn 3D modeling.

Currently working on a game for Mangolei Entertainment 💻

I'm working on a minigame for our game! I need to figure out how to implement game pieces that move when you click on them next, but I'm not sure if I should use CDDs or somehow change ImageButton coordinates (is that even possible???)

I've finally decided on a Linux distribution (for now) and started to set up Mint on my home pc yesterday! :linux:

I've spent the last few hours exchanging the old rubber parts in the Revenge from Mars flipper for new ones. My hands were entirely black afterwards...
I also reglued the UFO that someone shot off (good job).

By the way: it is my goal to put some easter-eggs in terms of literature into my dissertation. Like at least one paper about The Witness.
Or the book I found yesterday "Theorie der Fragebogen" (theory of questionnaires), which seems to be more about graph theory than actual questionnaires or […]

I'm still trying to get my CI/CD pipeline on GitLab running (and -ultimately- mirroring to Github).
Why am I unable to find proper tutorials/examples for my usecase? PySide6+Pyinstaller+Windows(for now)

Most of Computer Space is glued together now!
I've decided that I really don't like the cut 3D model. Yes, the seams are placed more or less strategically, but some pieces seem to be scaled wrong. And there is this corner in the front just missing […]

I've started a big 3D printed puzzle today.
We're building a Computer Space at HI-SCORE!

I've spend my evening yesterday with renewing the pads of our Arm Champs II at HiScore. Now they are finally back close to the original color. It was interesting to see hiw many times they have already been fixed over the years (at least 4 times according […]

[New Tool] Truncated Text for Ren'Py by Feniks

Adds a custom displayable which acts like text, but will truncate (cut off) and/or shrink words that won't fit inside the available space otherwise.

Get it on itch.io

I can FINALLY show you a new feature of the game I'm working on. (I've been integrating the polished UI in the past weeks and can't show this yet)
So, upon popular request I've integrated a typewriter-effect. All characters can have individual audio files […]

Wow. I've just realised that activating shift+r (reload game) in Renpy makes your life so much easier when you try to position stuff precisely. :ms_sweat_smile:

Hooray, I got OSC to work.🎉
It took me embarrassingly long because I had the wrong IP set...
And somehow, the reference to the client did not work, so I put it all into the Pawn blueprint. It is not pretty, but as far as I can tell with my bare minimum Python server, it works.

A good intro into #unrealengine5 I wish I had looked at sooner:

I've only watched the first two hours, but still learned how to improve stuff and realized some mistakes I've made in my project.

Today I spent the afternoon repainting the Pac-Man flipper at HiScore. It looks much better now. I'm still not happy about the yellow, but I don't have a matching tone. Next week it will be glazed with varnish and hopefully stops disintegrating […]

Today was another day of #phdwork with learning #unrealengine5 to do VR/AR using #metaxr.

✅ basic controller interaction with actors
✅put the whole thing into a git project so have save […]

I made some serious progress with the dialogue framework for our VN! Not only can speech bubble type, tail, position and size be defined per dialogue line, but all scripts get checked during linting for typos in the arguments and values that make sense. So (hopefully) no sudden exceptions […]

I *finally* managed to find out how to do a custom bubble say screen with arguments in #renpy last weekend!!! So here is a GIF of the progress (again featuring my beautiful placeholder assets). Such a deep conversation! 😂
