Sennheisers aren't too bad for under $250

Apparently Beats aren't bad (depends on what you want) and AudioTechnica are ok also.

I am very happy with my Sony WH1000XM2 for general bluetooth (paired to my phone) but Bose are good too

For Bluetooth/2.4Ghz headset on PC: (Work) Yealink > Jabra > Logitech; (Gaming) SteelSeries > Sony > Razer / Corsair; (Budget) Reddragon are surprising.

No worries. I was discussing this last night in training as we were looking at what else may be hidden in the manuscripts (mostly Saviolo, who would have been a contemporary of Bonetti) and looking at other contemporaries opens up our understanding. Was a good bridge for that.

now there's actually video out there somewhere by Guy Windsor. I think his breakdown is kinda neat (mine is pretty unproven as I would likely need a whole lot of training in rapier again, and find someone who knows the script and all the relevant texts)

now the interesting thing is to use some of the simplifications found in Agrippa as the counter; so instead of huge lunges, we use extensions in the thrust, and follow around with footwork to close some of the lines (and gain leverage in the bind)

I would likely say the better option here with Thibault is to use an Atajo; or essentially to counter-bind to trap the rapier as the lunge comes in; riposte with a cut (again, Capo Ferro uses these) but instead of staying there, use Thibault's Subjection to deliver a thrust with opposition.

Essentially, the whole point to Capo Ferro's lunge is that you should have bound the opponent's weapon (its a thrust with opposition) a subjection is a counter thrust with opposition, and Capo Ferro teaches both of these and the relevant defenses one could use.

to be fair, very few HEMA folk would defend Bonetti; there's just too little known about his system to "die on that hill"

More is known about Capo Ferro and Thibault, and I'd actually state you don't need to get out of Capo Ferro's system to defeat Thibault's Subjection.

Not much known about Bonetti, so yes loads of conjecture (but it seems all HEMA folk agree - Bonetti's defense involves footwork). Capo Ferro and Thibault is definitely a good one; long lunges, vs counter thrusts with opposition; and Agrippa would know how to deal with both
