Until Americans personally lose freedom that many have taken for granted, they won’t show up in DC in numbers like this. Most feel immune to the environment and its consequences.

That’s your opinion. Look up the Vietnam War protest and Civil Rights in DC. I don’t believe in echo chambers even though I absolutely hate this administration. Doing the same thing over and over expecting a different outcome is insane. These protest have become as routine as a movie playing

During Vietnam, bus loads of people, car pools, etc came to DC. We need an organized effort to do the same to shut DC down. I’m not being mean, I’m being honest. When Americans personally feel we can’t live a normal life anymore then they will respond in mass and stay. We are not there yet.

You seem angry, your local protest are not going to change the politics of Trump. I’m being a realist. It’s time for the rest of you to do the same. Engage as you wish local but until the rest of the country is affected and doesn’t go to a weekend protest and the movies after, nothing changes.

Take that power to DC. You want to do something other than protest on a Saturday afternoon and then going home. This needs to be on a massive direct level so they hear you. Until the country doesn’t act as if everything is normal, this doesn’t change and yes see MLK.

Protest unless in massive scale on DC front steps will not affect change at that level. It feels good but it’s not going to reverse the course we have been on. Protest will not change any election outcome either. It will matter.

Take your outrage to them. Take it to their front door. If you want them to listen to your outrage, then be loud enough there so they can hear you.

Unfortunately the local community engagement will not change the politics in DC. They don’t care because you are not in their backyard. You need engagement there to make sure they hear you.

This will not change the course to do a few hours of protesting. This is all performative unfortunately and if you really want to facilitate change, use the movement to engage with those within the community who didn’t vote or felt no one represented them. Elections are not that far away.

I live here and it’s crazy. He lives in the neighborhood down the road from me. So far the county has taken action because of the video and we will see how the investigation goes. One of the kids aunt posted on our local Nextdoor a statement and it fills in the blanks that the video doesn’t show.

Many Democrats here and in leadership need to have a deep self-reflection of what this Party really stands for. Being anti-Trump is not enough.

I see many who are upset of Harris for speaking many truths, even unpopular but I don’t see the same anger toward Biden for attempting to run a second term, the lack of a platform by Democrats for a number of years,the lack of organization, messaging and vision that has plagued them.

They don’t have to be a majority to actually lead. The Party doesn’t have a unified message in what it stands for, what it’s against and they are even divided in their protest. I would be happy to see them on the same page and have an actual vision for their Party.

Yep! I’m an Independent now since my old Republican doesn’t exist anymore and I was hoping to see a much better organization when the chips were down. I have been disappointed for sure and I don’t think they will fix it. They have wasted so much time already.

Inept leadership with no spine. It has been this way for years and it continues. You don’t move non-voters over into your party without showing signs you have an actual party that can win.
