I finally completed my deck and now can start to put together the observatory. I am first going to do a deep clean on all of the walls and dome parts before assembling it all together. Getting closer!

More progress with the observatory deck. The two-tone was accidental as Lowe’s shipped me 8 boards the wrong color. Decided to make it work. Doing a placement line up with the walls to determine where the lag bolts will go into the joists.

Finally making progress on the deck for my observatory. Most of the hard work for the framing is done. Planning out the decking for a double picture frame border.

More progress on the deck build. I have leveled the corner deck blocks and made sure that the top of the deck will be at the proper height to meet the top of the concrete pier.

Finally poured the concrete for the pier to my backyard observatory. I will build a 10’x10’ deck around it and place my 6’ Home Dome on top to house my Meade LX200 10” telescope.
