I build in react, so it really is as simple as creating a wrapping component that can wrap another component. I have a couple click events that get passed up to its implementer, but my modal file is 130 lines long including styles and comments for storybook.

The thing that needs to be accessible can implement the UI element. They don’t have to be the same. And it doesn’t have to fly in from a random corner of the screen (Kendo)

Maybe someday developers will understand that modal is just a styled component wrapper and doesn’t need to be any more complicated than that.
