THANKSGIVING (2023)
Finishing the day off with a first time watch! Pretty solid holiday horror flick. Some great kills and FX. Just wish it was a bit more tongue-in-cheek like the original grindhouse trailer.
Not sure if it’ll become a yearly rewatch, but I guess we’ll find out next year!

THANKSGIVING (2023)

A random Thanksgiving, heist comfort movie that I find easy to watch. Hasn’t aged the best with time, but the stacked cast makes it still worth the watch.

The happiness I felt once I realized this could count as a Thanksgiving movie. 😏
Also, big fan of this 4K rerelease. I think they did a good job at maintaining of the film grain!

BLOOD RAGE (1987)
This has become a tradition every year now. It’s so ridiculous but such a great time. With an amazing over-the-top performance by Louise Lasser. Always forget some aspect of the movie that I’m reminded of every year and it’s always a blast!

So many AvP games I’d love to see a rerelease for. I always wanted a PC port of AvP: Extinction, the RTS game that released on PS2 and Xbox. This with modern keyboard and mouse controls would be 🤌🤌

I’m now 71% done with watching all Oscar nominated entries! Very close to finishing and surprised myself with how much is usually nominated that I never get around to. Entries in short films, documentaries and other categories that I’ve taken for granted before, have really been exciting to watch.

Decided to make a poster for ANATOMY OF A FALL, a movie that snuck into my top movies of 2023! Great court room drama and a peak into the frustration of how we all individually perceive different moments in our lives. Definitely recommend!

2023 was not the most productive for me when it came to art. I was laid off my job in April and I found it hard to transition into doing work for myself again after being so used to my process being for clients. BUT I’ve made work I am very proud of, which makes me hopeful for the year to come! 🙏

Just started THE FALL OF HOUSE OF USHER and really loving it so far! Flanagan’s style always hits for me. Very much a fan. But after seeing many of his works, I now have to ask @flanaganfilm.bsky.social a very important question… so say we all? 🫡😉

UPDATE: I've now beaten Control + DLC and played the first 8 hours of Alan Wake II. And I very much agree that you should experience Control before Alan Wake II. They tie into each other in subtle and not so subtle ways that had me geeking! Happy I listened to @jonathanbarkan.bsky.social's advice! 🙌
