haven't worked on this in so long it took me like ten minutes to isolate the part of the code that pertained to directional tiles
still i think this looks like it works intuitively as intended

rudimentary idea for what a level might look like. would love to isolate what causes you to bounce when colliding with a wall at high speed... I think i have an idea where the problem is, but not... why... the problem is...

now screen wrap tiles can be blocked and you'll have to run at top speed to break them!
