I have an entry today at the GDSL’s #30DayMapChallenge with an attempt at “Dimensions”. It’s a story of 64 dimensions, mapped in two, with a bit of an extra dimension.

Headed to Detroit for #AAG2025 Excited to spend a week with fellow Geography nerds in one of the most interesting urban stories of the XXth Century! Catch me at the sessions (image via Rachel, thanks!) we’re organising w/ @rsfrankl.bsky.social , Elizabeth Delmelle and Isabelle Nilsson. Come say hi!

We have three PDRA roles out currently (until March 7th!) looking for candidates at @sdruk.bsky.social Imago. If you're all about making satellite imagery more useful, usable, and used for social scientists, public health folks & policy makers, this is your job!

Sat down and wrote a bit about the books I've read in 2024. Didn't _love_ all of them, but if you do read The Deluge, please please please, let me know and let's hang! darribas.org/anotes/artic...

On this, we crunched the numbers on what the Green Belt is made up of, based on our own (urban) form and function classification (urbangrammarai.xyz/story/). Results (+ code) over at:

urbangrammarai.xyz/green_belts_...

The gist is there are different "shades of green", some of them not very green.

The Geospatial Commission published today the report (there's a blog post too) of the project we've been collaborating on for several months. To add a bit of a personal view, I wrote a summary and some thoughts here also:
