Dustin Wolf picked up his first NHL shutout on Friday and it came against Juuse Saros, his frequent comp, whose career he has closely followed. In a tight battle between the NHL's two smallest goalies, the Flames rookie prevailed. My story for The Canadian Press: ca.sports.yahoo.com/news/flames-...

Will Zayne Parekh be the next Cale Makar? If you’re a Flames fan, you sure hope so. Anything close to that level would be a massive coup for Calgary. But he’s not there yet, nor will he be at the same level that Makar was at when he made his NHL debut and here’s why. www.facebook.com/FlamesFrom80...
Flames From 80 Feet
Many want to liken Zayne Parekh’s situation in joining the Flames to Cale Makar’s situation when he stepped into the line-up for the Avs in the 2019 Stanley Cup playoffs. Firstly, dare to dream. If.....

How long has Tyson Barrie been a healthy scratch for the Flames? Since Barrie last appeared in Calgary’s line-up on Nov. 12, Leon Draisaitl and Connor McDavid have combined for 104 points!

Moved to the top line early in the second period on Thursday, Jakob Pelletier responded three shifts later by helping set-up the tying goal. He scored the GWG in the third. “Best game I've seen him play in the NHL,” said Ryan Huska. My story for @CdnPressSports: www.timescolonist.com/hockey/pelle...
Pelletier takes advantage of first-line opportunity with Calgary Flames

Did anybody else feel déjà vu going into Calgary’s game on Saturday in Winnipeg? If so, it was for good reason. Thirteen years ago, a 23-year-old rookie, who also starred for Everett (WHL), got the.....

Matt Coronato’s wicked shot, Dustin Wolf’s heroic stops, and Jonathan Huberdeau’s timely snipes. They’ve been on display all season and were front and center again on Saturday with all three of them instrumental in the Calgary Flames’ 2-1 comeback win. My story: www.timescolonist.com/alberta-news...
Coronato continues to play a key role for improving Flames
CALGARY — Dustin Wolf, Matt Coronato and Jonathan Huberdeau have each played pivotal roles for the surprising Calgary Flames this season and that was the case again on Saturday night.

I’ve been marvelling lately how good Connor Zary is at carrying the puck into the offensive zone and setting up possession. Between his speed, edges and his confidence, he attacks the blue line and teams can’t stop him. Playing centre, just 23, hope his injury isn’t as bad as it looked. Just brutal.

Dustin Wolf has two assists in November. That ties him with Andrei Kuzmenko.

One of them is a goaltender.

Elias Lindholm has 0 goals and 4 assists in his last 17 games. He’s in year 1 of a 7-year deal with a $7.75M AAV.

Remember the Cheers theme song? “Sometimes you wanna go where everybody knows your name, and they're always glad you came.”

They may be singing a different tune in Boston right now.

Rasmus Andersson leading the Flames in scoring after 17 games is weird, but not because he’s a defenceman.

It’s weird because he’s gone six games without a point and has just one assist in his last nine.

Where the heck is everybody else?!
