11 - in 2026 i plan to finish 1+ of the WIPs for my college AU (extension of "my place to hide"), and explore more gender stuff bc both joker and akechi are so gender to me. i also just need to write more in general!

10 - in "pink alligator" i wanted to reproduce the final engine room "plot twist" and i think i did alright:

"Goro loads his gun. He points it at Ren once more. He must remove the Phantom Thieves—from immediate danger."

08 - angst!! i love when characters yearn with the firm belief that they can't be together.

09 - "in full bloom": my partner stole flowers for me from someone's yard bc they remembered i'd once said bouquets require only $$$ & little thought/effort from the gifter (i admit this is not always true)

06 - i brainstorm & outline on my phone's notes app (i have a very long brainstorm document), and i draft on google docs (it has to be in garamond). i recently found that reading my drafts aloud to my partner also helps with my editing process!

07 - oof i don't really handwrite anymore—i just type.

05 - tbh i've come to understand & love myself more thanks to akechi's character bc i see myself in him. this ship means so much to me bc akechi deserves ppl who love him & no one loves him more than joker does :')

04 - one success was figuring out the dynamic for the smut & making it coherent. another was moving my partner to tears with "pink alligator" even tho they're not a biiig fan of akechi & i'm the one who cries more easily at fictional stories (last year's "hearts a mess" made them cry too tho!)

03 - i enjoy describing akechi thinking one thing but saying something else or not saying anything at all. boy lives in his brain. he needs to be more honest with himself! it's especially fun describing akechi's inability to understand, let alone articulate, his feelings for joker

01 - last year i wrote mostly from joker's POV but this year it was all akechi's

02 - i challenged myself to write my first smut ever for shuake week this year, and that opened up a lot more possibilities for future fics haha
