Are you open to submissions?

Yes, although the first edition is almost full, I welcome any suggestions on content. Although I think it will be good for people to see the first one to get a sense of the style of content we’re/I’m aiming for.

Where can I get it?

I’ll make it available online but I also would like to go to some events and sell some in person. Maybe FWL, MRW, Hunter, if they’d have me.

Can I help?

Yes you can, just drop me a line with what you think you might be able to offer, any help is greatly appreciated.

Is it more than just photography?

Images will certainly be the foundation, but there’s already been some great suggestions of columns, artwork, poetry, agony aunt, historical editorial and more.

I’ll be open to diversifying as we go.

Will it be inclusive?

It will be as inclusive as possible yes, we won’t discriminate. Bear with us I think, for a lot of the direction on that part is steered by who’s available to me, but if you’re keen to take part and represent then just drop me a line.

What’s it inspired by?

Crotch magazine is a big inspiration, they do a little bit of kink but not a lot. This will be 100% kinky. They do an amazing job so if I can even do a fraction of what they do I’ll be happy.

What’s coming soon?

So I have 70% of the design done for the first edition of the zine, once that’s done I’ll get a test print, take some marketing pics then start getting some pre-orders.

But the zine itself is going to be a bound A5 booklet with about 40-50 pages. (170gsm art matt)

Why Darkroom?

It’s a double entendres for the sexy darkroom where you’re likely to be fucked in a sling and a photographic darkroom where you develop analogue images with chemicals.

Come to think of it they both don’t smell great but they do both have very red lighting.

So, Darkroom is a visual and physical place to celebrate kinksters, and although were starting small, I aim to create a welcoming space for all forms of sexy people and creatives to express their desires, learn about themselves, learn to let go, and
encourage us all to delve into kinks unknown.
