Trump and Casablancas were bringing in girls as young as 14 for their teen modeling contests... from Russia and Ukraine. The Guardian did a whole investigation a few years back. Real shady trafficking shit.

Brunel would "scout" girls from those events.

Teen models, powerful men and private dinners: when Trump hosted Look of the Year
In the early 90s, Donald Trump judged contestants at the world’s biggest modelling competition - since hit by allegations of abuse. This is how the people who were there remember it

I mean, not sure how many artist you know... but getting laid is a pretty significant motivational factor for a LOT of them.

But on the most basic level, that's an animal intentionally altering it's aesthetic environment, to provoke a behavioral, if not emotional response in another. Pure art.

But the person does have control over the machine, they're telling it what to do.

It's like saying do I control my airbrush or does the air compressor control it. The compressor produces a necessary condition for the brush to function. Is that control?

interesting.
November 15, 2025 at 1:17 PM
Yes.
And guess where Brunel lived all though the 1990's?

If you guessed Trump Tower, you'd be correct.

I keep telling people this... it's really not complicated.

Trump, Casablancas, and Brunel.

They ran teen modeling agencies and events, that were just a front for trafficking girls to Epstein.

Trump wasn't a customer.
He was a fucking supplier.

BTW google how Brunel died...

I've seen simple one line prompts that get generic responses and I've seen very detailed and intricate instructions.

But then I've seen some abstract art that's stupidly simple too. It's not whataboutism.

I'm just trying to figure out what the consistent standard is.
November 11, 2025 at 11:25 AM
Yes, there is. But what if it's not just a keyword, but a very detailed and vivid description of both the concept of the image, the style and the presentation?
November 10, 2025 at 12:14 AM
I mean there are arguable some animals that make art.

Not just animals in zoos we give some paint to, to see what they'll do... but there are a lot of birds, for example, who will gather shiny stuff or blue stuff to decorate a nest to impress a mate. Sounds like a lot of artists I know.
November 10, 2025 at 12:10 AM
How do you figure? Who is making the creative choice?

The machine can only do what it's told, and in this case it's being told to mimic the process according to the instructions given, and produce an image.

Seem the choice is made by the one giving instructions.

MAGA are waking up to the realization that blue states can cover our people... so the majority of people getting screwed over are poor rural MAGAs in red states.

James Gunn won't stop sticking things in my ear.

I've had Foxy Shazam's 'Dreamer' stuck in my head for a month.
November 9, 2025 at 5:39 AM
I would consider that bad art, halfassed art... but still art.

Plenty of artists are shitheads, and everybody wants their rewards to outweigh their efforts.

I mean if Michelangelo had a tool that would cut marble like it was cheddar cheese, would he be less of an artist for not using a chisel?
November 9, 2025 at 5:33 AM
I'm really not.

I have no particular issue with AI. I have an issue with hacks who give a description to AI and act like they did something special.

But then I've seen some AI instructions and descriptions that read like 50% short story and 50% computer coding.
I can't deny there's skill in that.
November 9, 2025 at 5:24 AM
if you did get a chance to use z brush and sculpted something you liked, and 3D printed it... do you think that would diminish you as an artist?
November 9, 2025 at 5:18 AM
So is it physical input?

I don't think the machine is creating, I think the artist is using a tool to create. The machine is simply doing what it's told to do.

I'm asking when that tool becomes so complex that the artist ceases being an artist. When does the tool become the creative force.
November 9, 2025 at 5:16 AM
But is the AI making a creative choice? If the tool is exercising creativity, that's a whole other kettle of fish.

Wasn't that the point of the OP, that AI is incapable of creative inspiration... and just mimics it, based on the instructions it's given, and it's design parameters?
November 9, 2025 at 5:04 AM
I'm not ignoring the point.

You'd still be an artist without your tools and a hustler would still be a hustler.

It doesn't address the question at hand about where that line is drawn between artist and tool. At what point does the tool mean you stop being an artist?
November 9, 2025 at 5:01 AM
It's the difference between an artist and a professional artist.

To make a living off making your art, sometimes requires some hustle. Working on one project to pay for another, etc. I wouldn't hold it against any artist that they try to make a living doing what they love.
November 9, 2025 at 4:59 AM
Sure, we don't disagree.

But like it or not, there's a lot of crossover between artists and hustlers. The call them con artists for a reason.
November 9, 2025 at 4:53 AM
Yeah, I'm inclined to agree that asking AI to make you art is like asking a chef to make you a meal. It doesn't make you a cook.

But... what if you write the recipe the chef is using? I mean like every ingredient spice down to the gram. How to prep and cook and serve it, etc.

Then, I don't know.
November 9, 2025 at 4:51 AM
I'm not being obtuse, I'm asking for your opinion of where this line is drawn.

If I gave AI a vivid description of a zombie, instead of a sculpted piece... does it cease being art then?

Does the description have to be shitty? How shitty?

When's it not art VS. when's it just shitty art?
