Just finished watching CITY the Animation.

It's hard to describe just how incredible this adaptation is succinctly. Rapid-fire jokes, heartfelt moments, innovative direction, a setting where literally anything can happen, CITY has it all.

In this scene leading up to this shot, summer is almost at it's end, and one character asks the other if they ever found anything fun to do. They hesitate for a moment, but reply that, after thinking on it, each day of summer was fun. At this point, we get to this image, which has the stars turn from a uniform yellow to various shimmering shades of green, blue, and red. The scene hangs on this shot for a moment, with only the sound of the breeze being heard to let the meaning of her answer steep in our minds before cutting to the episode's opening theme.

As much as I'd like to do Inktober, I think I really need to go back to the fundamentals and start from scratch. Even if I'm fashionably late to the party, it's never too late to start the grind. Let's do this!

I came across a Japanese band named JYOCHO about a month ago, and I swear it changed my brain chemistry in the best possible way.
