I can't lie, my interest in BoP definitely nosedived after Romero left.

*Very* much a set up for a 'Imperial Guardians' series. There's a lot, mainly around Darkhawk himself and the truth behind his powers/origins/the raptors.
Not to mention the tease from another character about future plans, and that Amadeus Cho is featured on the cover yet not in the issue.

*Very* much a set up for a 'Imperial Guardians' series. There's a lot, mainly around Darkhawk himself and the truth behind his powers/origins/the raptors.

You can definitely tell that the 'co-writing' between Dan Abnett and Jonathan Hickman is very much led by Abnett. They're all clearly individual characters with banter and unique voices.

They're mentioned a couple of times, and it's very much set up that there's a mystery around his true origin so I'd suggest so!

In case you're unaware, I'm talking about Imperial War: Imperial Guardians.
This is probably one of the meatiest issues of the entire Imperial saga tbh. Much more going on than the main book. And it actually feels quite important as we head towards the inclusion.
