Thank you for reading, Diane This is a view of Kachemak Bay from the Homer Spit in Homer, Alaska. The road is barely above sea level so there is a great view of the crashing waves hitting the beach. Thank you for reading, Diane This is another view of the Kachemak Bay. There is a barrier of rocks piled along the road as it is barely above sea level. This protects the road from high waves. here is a Wikipedia explanation. Kachemak Bay (Dena'ina: Tika Kaq’) is a 40-mi-long (64 km) arm of Cook Inlet in the U.S. state of Alaska, located on the southwest side of the Kenai Peninsula. The communities of Homer, Halibut Cove, Seldovia, Nanwalek, Port Graham, and Kachemak City are on the bay as well as three Old Believer settlements in the Fox River area, Voznesenka, Kachemak Selo, and Razdolna. Day 17 of #JanuArty #JanuArty2025 Today’s theme is “furniture”. Chairs set up for a Sunday Service in my little Buddhist Temple. The altar is a repurposed sofa table and the cabinets on either side of the altar are repurposed library shelving units. Discarded furniture put to good use.

The altar has a beautiful silk embroidered cloth. A dark skinned seated Amida Buddha stature sits on the Altar. The scroll is featured and hung on the wall and is the focal point of the altar. It is inscribed with “Namo Amida Butsu” “I take refuge in the Buddha of Infinite Wisdom and Compassion”. There are folding chairs in the foreground for those in attendance of the service. Just an everyday human being with shortcomings and flaws.
