▶️ media narratives, and the notoriety they perpetuate, act as an extra-legal form of power that generates misrecognition and entraps women in a 'stigma machine' (Tyler, 2020)

▶️ media narratives follow women for many years in unpredictable ways, undermining their efforts and desires for normality, safety, security and dignity

➡️ women convicted of murder face a distinctive moral landscape upon release from prison

▶️ the nature of their conviction - and the notoriety attached to it - plays a significant role in shaping their re/integration efforts
