Retired after a long career in public policy development with an emphasis on economics, finance and infrastructure. 🇦🇺
Bill Clinton: I did not inhale.

Donald Trump: I did not swallow.

The MAGAGOP cannot believe its luck.
November 11, 2025 at 3:53 AM
The November 2025 election results in the US will rattle Trump and the MAGAGOP. But instead of them listening to the public mood and easing back on their excesses, expect them to double down frantically on their punishment of the people, implementing Project 2025 and rigging the mid-terms next year.

It’s starting to seem like no matter how far right you are in the US, you’ve got to keep looking over your shoulder for someone even further to the right.

“America First” is looking increasingly like “America Last”.

How could Ukraine trust any security guarantee provided by the US, especially under Trump?

Liberal “Dead” Ted O’Brien on 7.30 tonight saying he’s attending the Federal Government’s productivity summit to represent households who are doing it tough. What rubbish! He’s representing big business that hasn’t shared productivity gains with workers for at least a decade.

If Putin is warning Europe “to not throw a wrench in the works” over his ‘agreement’ with Trump and “not use backroom dealings” to torpedo it, then you can bet your last dollar that the agreement is very good for Russia. Which means it is very bad for Ukraine.

The Israeli Government: Now that we have destroyed Gaza, rendered its population homeless and engineered widespread famine within its borders, we need to find some schmucks to take it over and meet the costs of reconstruction as we haven’t been able to displace the population to other countries.

With each passing day under this corrupt idiot of a president, America’s greatness diminishes.

Looks like Independence Day in the US will be trumped by Autocracy Day when the Felon in Chief signs the Big Bastard of a Bill into law.

What I want to know is from what crypt did they exhume Miller and Bove, and how did they re-animate these cadavers?

Wannabe mob boss Trump on Iran: I’m going to make them an offer I can’t understand.

With the US review of the AUKUS, it would not be surprising if Trump is getting ready to try and shake down Australia. If he does, it would be an ideal opportunity to walk away from the deal and revert to a sub deal with France.

Expect a spill in the Liberal Party in the September quarter, after Senatorial membership changes on 1 July. The hard right faction will not be denied for long.

Thank you, Australia, for looking to the future and not dwelling on the past! And for seeing through the tissue-thin policies proffered by the Coalition, which needs comprehensive reform to prune the dead wood at senior levels.

Fitting that Trump is threatening to do a ‘Pontius Pilate’ on Russia’s war with Ukraine at Easter.

“Suss”an Ley on the TV this morning. How can anyone take her seriously?
April 16, 2025 at 11:38 PM
Peter Dutton touts himself as a ‘strong leader’. I don’t want a leader who is consistently strongly wrong.
April 16, 2025 at 8:58 AM
A reminder that politicians who are trying to pull the wool over your eyes (and they all do, to varying extents) are relying on you not doing your homework come election time.

And if you aren’t engaged because “they’re all rascals, anyhow”, then you’re risking even worse rascals winning office.
April 16, 2025 at 12:21 AM
Peter Dutton says that he wants to get Australia ‘back on track’. I reckon that’s a slip of the tongue. What he mean to say was ‘on the backtrack’.
April 12, 2025 at 12:16 AM
Trump has enough material from his first term for a sequel to “The Art of the Deal”, called “The Art of the Steal”. So far in his second term, he already has enough material for a third volume called “The Art of the Heel”.
April 10, 2025 at 10:30 AM
Peter Dutton walking back policies this morning that he should never adopted in the first place. Their initial announcement showed a profound lack of judgement.

How many more policies might need to be jettisoned by the Coalition during the election campaign? A party on the verge of chaos.

Watching Peter Dutton on the TV this morning. Non-stop lies, misinformation and half-baked policies. It’s clear he’s learned well from Abbott and Morrison, two masters of untruthfulness.
