She's going to do what NY Dems rarely have to, win a Primary *and* an Election. Stefanik has finally made intent to run for Gov official (but it's been sort of a gimme since she did the walk of shame home after Drump dumped her for UN Ambassadorship.)

doesn't get you farther down your path.
Side thought: I believe Iceland was/is the only environment that had no indigenous mammals, except for bats. Every other species was imported. Maybe there's something about pre-settlement ecology floating around?

Hmm... OK. That's a valid counterfactual to work out (especially in the context of world building) and a long time science fiction trope of what fills an environmental role under X circumstances. Still, a result that I'm assuming will always end in "because God said so/science is the Devil" (NEXT)

I just hit your link. I stopped looking at the resulting page at this... nothing good would come after it.

or a koan (but not to offer any insight, so anti-koan?). Poison pill-ed anti-information?
I've never heard of them before seeing your post. What was the query that brought it up?

Without searching and swapping variables (but I believe I will in the morning), and not being glib, it's enshitification and smells like a thought-terminating trap, ie "flightless bats"... meant to undermine reliance on using taxonomy. Lewis Carroll stuff, "why is a raven like a writing desk" (NEXT)

I cried a bit cause I still don't feel like I was as good a dog dad as I could have been. I didn't drink. I gave the cats each a little "soup cup" treat.

I thought of you when I read this quote from "There Is No Antimemetics Division: A Novel" by qntm -

I don't have the list easily available, but a lot of these are now really just different brand names owned by a few corps. (Still, it's easier to remember to avoid them than to remember what group they're in, but it's an interesting "follow the money".)
