I'm not saying the stories are all bad in the modern era - I don't think i can confidently say any of them are really my favorite, but i do like that they're at least trying to recreate the same ambition they had in the early 2000s

We came from having jank ass games with good stories and now we've swapped to having good games with jank ass stories! There's good parts on each side but it's just so deeply varied because the ambitious stories were always front and center until the 2010s
