I’m one of 41 million people who need Snap to make ends meet. For weeks, the administration has turned our survival into a game: will they eat, or won’t they?

You absolutely would not want to be, or be anywhere near, any bottle of ketchup in what remains of the White House today.

Trump being given a golden crown by South Korea is so on point for 2025.
Trump gifted golden crown by South Korea's president
President Donald Trump was given a gift that will likely make the 'No Kings' protesters go a little mad - a replica of an ancient golden crown.

My school is 100% free and reduced lunch. A huge percentage are on food stamps (SNAP). Many will be going hungry in a week when benefits run out. It breaks my heart. 💔

Are we in a bubble? Andrew Ross Sorkin asks the crowd at the Altria. Very few raised their hands. Do we remember 2008?

No Kings was great. Several friends who never protested before came. But it can't just be a white, middle class movement. Richmond is a very diverse community and that diversity was not represented. We must move toward a general strike. And that will take a bigger movement with more bridges.

Shit went from bad to really dark fast.

Mehdi is right. Media has always been owned by rich, powerful people. Anyone remember the NYT and the Iraq War?
🗣️ @mehdirhasan.bsky.social : “We have media outlets joining up with a fascistic government. That’s a whole different ballgame — but 🇺🇸 media has always been too cozy with power. Journalism should be adversarial, CHALLENGING those in power.” 🙏🏽

This week has shown me that the MSM and social media are broken. Bluesky is as bad as Twitter. Most Trump voters are just people. My relatives are Trump voters. My nephew's girlfriend was at the Kirk event. The poor kid is scarred for life. We gotta put down our gloves and talk to each other.

Thanks @heathermassey.com. That made me laugh. It was needed after such a strange, dark week for our country.

I learned today that my nephew's girlfriend was at the Kirk event. She is such a sweet girl. I met her over the summer. Violence is just the world our kids live in these days. I can't imagine the trauma.

The Epstein birthday book is disgusting. It shows how elite America knew and went along with Epstein's crimes. Why hasn't Rob Wittman taken a position on releasing the Epstein file?

This is what fascism looks like in America - masked men who pointed guns at people because they are brown.

Wittman's propaganda machine is in full-on blitz mode. He stresses the need for energy security but only talks about oil and gas. Wind and solar are huge energy components in #VA1 and across Virginia. But he sticks to the company line.

I see this on my LinkedIn feed. It's tough out there.

A great group of people at the King William Democrats picnic on Saturday.
September 7, 2025 at 4:31 PM
The Democratic Party used to be the party of working class people. It's become a party of corporate interests and over educated elites. After Carter, Mondale and Dukakis got blitzed, we became timid to flex our working class roots. We can't win VA01 with a candidate who takes corporate money.

Speaking today at King William Dems. It was great to see so many people come out on a Saturday. Everyone wants to see Wittman go home to Montrose. (Sorry about the moving camera, my daughter was the camera operator!)

This is not normal. Trump declares war on an American city.

So much fun meeting and talking to people at the King William Democrats. Everybody wants Wittman out! I brought my daughter, who took advantage of the pool. (She was more popular than me 🤪)

Gotta love political theater "This is purely for domestic political audiences,” said a former defense official. “Not only will this cost millions of dollars, it will have absolutely zero impact on Chinese or Russian calculations."
Pentagon officials fume over Trump's Department of War rebrand
Employees could find themselves changing Defense Department seals on more than 700,000 facilities around the world.

Pretty ironic from the guy who had no spine for impeachment and stole the supreme court. He holds a lot of the blame.
Mitch McConnell warns: ‘this is the most dangerous period since before World War Two’
‘What we need to do is avoid the headline at the end of the war, ‘Russia wins, America loses.’ It has huge worldwide implications,’ McConnell said of Russia’s invasion of Ukraine

The jobs report reflects what I've been hearing from small business owners. They are seeing a slow down in orders and are being cautious with new hires. Unpredictability is the kryptonite of any business and this administration has piled on layers of that.

Democracy, it turns out, doesn’t die in darkness. It dies in broad daylight when otherwise good but cowardly people fail to act until it’s too late.
It’s Not Yet Too Late to Save Our Democracy
The window is closing fast—but a handful of senators and Supreme Court justices could check Trump’s autocratic ambitions.
