Nobody- just here to read smart ppl’s takes on the world, mobilize Texans to be better, and maybe chuckle.
You actually get them automatically - as in, if your premium is $1000 and get $500 in tax credit, then your monthly payment to health insurance co is only $500. BUT if you end up making more that year, you have to pay it all back at the end.

(um, white lady to white lady: if you did all the things, it’s not directed at you. Announcing you are one of the good ones suggests that you are not... and then asking for reward for doing it proves you are not)

i hate that the story’s ultimate conclusion is that she should have gotten insurance and not the part they breezed over which is about how unethical our healthcare system in the us is.
August 2, 2025 at 7:53 PM
And once you are lucky enough to actually get mental health care, they will not cover certain drugs w/o you having to “try out cheaper ones first” so you have to fight tooth and nail to actually acquire the correct medicine. why we don’t burn every insurance co to the ground as a nation is beyond me

To me, it’s entoiled w/ the time my mom fled w us kids away from our abusive dad only to get stranded in a blizzard in PA. Long story, but the AM after we were rescued, we watched the tragedy unfold on a motel tv & couldn’t help but feel fatefully bound to it as mom lost hope & drove us back home.
