You actually get them automatically - as in, if your premium is $1000 and get $500 in tax credit, then your monthly payment to health insurance co is only $500. BUT if you end up making more that year, you have to pay it all back at the end.

Dude- we have to stop canceling words that accurately describe someone else’s bad behavior in place of them cancelling their bad behavior. It’s “shoot the messenger” rather than stop the crime.

I wish you would have provided context for this in your article; chiefly that the redrawing time period is highly unusual and that the president is forcing it on a state for his benefit. Stop normalizing authoritarianism!

i hate that the story’s ultimate conclusion is that she should have gotten insurance and not the part they breezed over which is about how unethical our healthcare system in the us is.

And once you are lucky enough to actually get mental health care, they will not cover certain drugs w/o you having to “try out cheaper ones first” so you have to fight tooth and nail to actually acquire the correct medicine. why we don’t burn every insurance co to the ground as a nation is beyond me

To me, it’s entoiled w/ the time my mom fled w us kids away from our abusive dad only to get stranded in a blizzard in PA. Long story, but the AM after we were rescued, we watched the tragedy unfold on a motel tv & couldn’t help but feel fatefully bound to it as mom lost hope & drove us back home.

We call that Mexican Coke in Texas 😂 - i’m not mad about this (but the iowa corn farmers will be)
