My stories come to me as I write, so I don’t usually know the ending. But for my current WIP, I knew that I wanted it to be a series, and had a good idea of how I wanted book 1 to end.

Bonus: Finish revising my WIP and hopefully complete my first draft of book 2

Feedback and being open to constructive criticism. It’s never easy when someone is critiquing something you’ve dedicated so much time to, but it’s also so important to get other writers’ perspectives on your writing! I know I’ll be a better writer because of it 💪🏼

The feeling of joy when you’re writing and you can actually feel your story starting to come together ✍🏻✨

Bonus: Probably my FMC’s relationship with her father. I always feel those scenes really deeply because I have such a good relationship with my own father.

I adore the relationship between my FMC and her main love interest - the evolution from estranged childhood friends to having forbidden feelings for each other gives me all the feels 💕

I’ve wanted to write stories my whole life, but I’ve only started properly writing within the last 3 years. My love of the fantasy genre - both books and film - heavily influenced me to write my current WIP. There’s just something about the magical that I can’t resist ✨

Zahara is a reject princess who desperately wants to belong in the kingdom she’s living in. I wrote this MC for the teenage me that used to agonise over being excluded by her peers - it helped me learn that there’s nothing more powerful than being our most unique selves 🩷
