Digging into this is fascinating. It reveals the limitations of good samaritans, with means, compensating for the housing crisis. Laws in place to protect people impose upon our ability to assist people when systems fail, for better or worse.

I’m leery of the term “franchise” here, as both Prey and Predator work due to the alien being a foil with simple motivations. Franchises inevitably elaborate (See: the Predator franchise). But I want to believe.
