Long time no see! Some updates on my second year at the U - this semester, I proposed my thesis, became a cycling academic, and was recognized by the U for my NSF GRFP award. Not too bad! Please keep an eye out on my page for a SARMAC Student Caucus event coming up soon. I am really excited for it!

Really enjoyed a webinar put together by the APA yesterday that discussed incorporating LGBTQ+ advocacy into one’s academic career as a grad student and beyond. I encourage everyone to seek out resources like this workshop and consider ways to advocate in their academic space!

Thank you so much! I plan to take my experience publicizing and creating opportunities for student researchers, combined with my work mentoring underrepresented researchers, and apply it to creating and publicizing brave research spaces and rich social support networks for SARMAC students.
My PhD student @dara_zwemer would be an amazing student board member for SARMAC. Why? They are 1) a hard-worker, 2) dedicated to applied research, & 3) behaviorally committed to DEI efforts at many levels. Vote for Dara! #SARMAC
