This male beauty eclosed yesterday afternoon and flew off at about 5:30 pm towards the setting sun. The milkweed pods are exploding with seeds, we’ll be ready for next year.

All 15 cats in my cage pupated to chrysalises, of those 9 have eclosed to monarchs - 8 females and 1 male - do 6 to go. I had a monarch visiting in the garden yesterday, so maybe hopefully more cats before this season is over.

It’s adorable! This is a tussock moth and monarch caterpillar eating the same milkweed leaf in my garden. Not as uncommon a find but still fun to watch.

Beautiful! I know that feeling- I was so moved by this intricate beadwork on display at a 17th century church in Palermo, Sicily. Also done by a nun.
