In my degree I remember being inspired by projects funded by @saveourseas.bsky.social so its a mini full-circle moment to see myself listed as a project leader (complete with sketch portrait) for them this year! Read about our 2025 small grant here: tinyurl.com/45fj3yj8

Fascinating to join a #CSIoftheSea with the Cetacean Strandings Investigation Programme team on two Angelsharks that were found on a North Wales beach in 2023.

🔎 Samples from the sharks will provide vital data on health, diet, reproductive patterns, and connectivity across the East Atlantic.

Lots of people told me "I can't arrange a whole group, but if you can make it so individuals can get a spot on a shark research trip, I'd love to come!"

Now is your chance! If this works, we'll do it again.
Friends, you asked for it and we made it happen!

I now have (at least) 2 shark research expedition fundraiser charter dates available where you can join us as an individual without you having to arrange a whole group!

Be a marine biologist for a day, and support a great cause! Read on for info!

After a few weeks off, I've returned to the news that 2 of our #tope have been recorded on a telemetry array in South Wales/England! Fantastic to get 1st detections of our animals and insight into #connectivity between MPA's in Wales + England. Where will our sharks go next? #ProjectSIARC #ZSL

My day job is more fish orientated! I'm leading research for #ProjectSIARC, the
#OceanPredatorLab, and #ZSL to investigate movements of Critically Endangered tope (soupfin) sharks in North Wales, UK - a seasonal hot-spot! 🧪🐟🦈🐙

I'm slowly working towards my

ringing permit in my spare time. Much more arduous task than my Home Office licence for fish tagging! Thrilled to have rung my first kingfisher a few weeks ago, though. What a beauty #birds #ringing #kingfisher
