Cade Horton (rib fracture) won’t be ready to return during the NLDS, Counsell said.

He is eligible to come off the IL before Game 5, however, that possibility has already been ruled out.

This is the risk that comes when deferring to make certain upgrades to the roster until the trade deadline vs. the offseason. Giving themselves some financial flexibility for in-season moves can be helpful but feels like a missed opportunity to add a more proven SP given the Cubs' prospect capital.

UT Willi Castro

Be interesting to hear Hoyer's thoughts soon on moves Cubs did/didn't make. But feels underwhelming given Cubs record, esp with what other NL teams (Phillies, Mets, Padres) did.
