Thank you! Current county of Cambs as that is where I am based and can access local archives. I do online based research for families from all over England and Wales though, and recently dipped my toe into the Northern Irish records.

Ah I meant the Parish of Westmoreland in Jamaica. Appleby-in-Westmorland (UK) is lovely though. I stayed at Appleby Manor many years ago and we had a lovely time.

We may have to go back to message boards but they just aren't as accessible as Facebook. With such a large membership you had a good chance of getting family involved even if genealogy wasn't one of their hobbies.

This is my concern. I run a few family genealogy groups on Facebook. They have been brilliant for getting distant family connected and sharing oral history. The confidentiality, the search features and the accessibility have been brilliant. I have no idea where to go to replace that outside of meta.
