I will never stop trying to get people to care about Medicaid. And if you're on it -- or are close to someone who is (and LOTS of more affluent people do) -- please help. My column for the weekend. www.nytimes.com/2025/03/21/y...
Medicaid Is a Middle-Class Benefit. Here’s What to Know.
If you have a parent short on savings, a disabled adult child or a minor with special needs, Medicaid may be your backstop. Plenty of people are unaware.

“And I believe part of being human is a questioning, a curiosity, a trying to find answers, but an understanding that there are some answers that, at least on this planet, this life, this life form, we will not be able to answer.”

“In the house of God’s love we come to see with new eyes and hear with new ears and thus recognize all people, whatever their race, religion, sex, wealth, intelligence, or background, belong to that same house. God’s house has no dividing walls or closed door.”

Remember: in the gospels, Jesus got the most upset with those who use religion as a tool of oppression and self serving power.

You don't see Jesus get upset with anyone for showing too much forgiveness, giving too much mercy, having too much generosity or loving others too much.

This.
If our Christianity causes us to say, “see how God can use King David even when he did horrid things!” to justify people in power we like instead of “Where is the prophet Nathan of our time who has been sent by God to call King David out for all his horrid actions?!” we need new theology.

Adam Grant says: “The best way to accelerate growth is to embrace, seek, and amplify discomfort.” (Hidden Potential)

That’s how I’m feeling about the world. What will the discomfort we embrace unlock in us? How might it propel us forward?

Cheers to finding out together.
