Yeah you're probably right, but even so it's a bit messy.

I got this too when using the rc release. Just had to @ts-expect-error when adding that in because it's just not reflected in the types. How does this sort of thing not get picked up during the _very_ long prerelease phase?

That's just blatant! There's something hilariously wrong or weird in every single one of his comments. I especially like that he essentially includes his CV in some of the comments too

That doesn't really explain away the UI jank. You'll never find something like that on an Xbox / PS5 / Switch or Steam Deck

The keyboard and PIN entry have been pretty jank since Windows 8... I really don't have high hopes they'll ever improve it
August 21, 2025 at 12:18 PM
It's better, but it's still janky. Having to tap the pin input, the keyboard showing for a few frames before disappearing. All the layout shifting about as the UI loads.

I looks like it's a first draft

Do we have any Switch 2 gameplay yet? Would probably get it if it's at 60fps (or 120, a man can dream)

I've had exactly one good game of Knockout Tour online, and for that I was frontrunning the entire time and still came fourth. The RNG is rough sometimes.

I can't seem to get 1440p on my C2, which has handled a lot of other stuff I've thrown at it otherwise

Congrats Andy! What an awesome place to work!

It's a marvellous shitshow. I bet Colapinto wishes he was sat on the sidelines at Williams rather than walking into this mess.

Only issue is you may have 1000 instances of a bin (binstances) on disc taking up loads of space.
February 7, 2025 at 10:23 AM
Pretty much every open world game on a disc-based console kinda had to do the same thing (even PS4 with it's slow hdd). It's much faster to read sequentially than randomly, so if you have a bin asset repeated across the world, inline it with the current chunk and it'll load faster.

I guess the output is just as important - 42W when running at full pelt, charging battery and some wiggle room.

I think this is a really valid take... It'd be like asking 15 years ago if sublime text or brackets were going to create a new paradigm of developer

I disagree with that last bit, I just can't see normal developers anywhere dig into a whitepaper just to do their 9-5
