We could never galvanize the country to sacrifice their individual comfort to solve actual problems at scale (like climate change), but he somehow got them to swallow the biggest tax hike in history under the precept that their sacrifice under tariffs today will magically lead to prosperity tomorrow

I was in a production of this over a decade ago. You really have to know and be able to ape Amy Sedaris’ style of comedy to pull it off. It was well-received at the time!
