Your holiday reminder that the actor who played Michael Myers in Halloween II is called Dick Warlock.

Happy Halloween to all, and especially to Dick Warlock.

Thrilled to see people are enjoying THE TWILIGHT ZONE #1, out today from @idwpublishing.com.

What a delight to add a brick with @morganbeem.bsky.social to the house Rod Serling built.

I have the best job.

Nightwing 130 is out today from @dc.com!

Cirque Du Sin part 1.

Nightwing is back on the streets of Bludhaven, but so is somebody else. Someone with far more power than he has.

And the circus music from nowhere keeps getting louder...

I made a story for this with @bsienk.bsky.social, which is one of the coolest things I've ever gotten to do.

Batman: Dark Patterns #9 is out today from @dc.com.

It's personally one of my favorite scripts I've written, and @cleanlined.bsky.social, @treecolour.bsky.social & @gofrankgo.bsky.social made it look better than I ever could have hoped.

It all begins with a bucket of bleach...

Sunshine is the closest we've ever gotten to a real Lovecraft film, despite not being based on Lovecraft.

I think there's a book to be written about 1972's Blood Freak as eulogy for the hippie era post-Manson.

Our guy smokes weed once and immediately becomes addicted, shortly leading to his transformation into a giant vampire turkey.

A morality tale as old as time.

From the director of Audition & Ichi the Killer, something very different.
A family tries to keep their guest house open despite their guests continually getting Final Destination-ed.

Contains musical numbers, claymation, gore, and belly laughs.

Puppet Master had far more edge than I expected going in. It's a proper horror movie.
August 1, 2025 at 12:06 PM
The title and poster might have you think City of the Living Dead is a Romero knock off. It's nothing of the sort. The gates of Hell are open and all sorts of horrible shit is seeping through. Set pieces that will stay with you for life.

If you're looking for an occult classic, you can't go wrong with The Devil Rides Out. Few films of this style from this era really contain the imagery you hope for, they just have cool posters. This one delivers.
Candles and goat heads and Christopher Lee, oh my.

Prince of Darkness: a lesser-sung Carpenter which lives in my head cos he's riffing on his love of Nigel Kneale's Quatermass + Stone Tapes.

(Carpenter also tapped Kneale for a draft of Halloween 3. Despite what people keep trying to convince me, Halloween 3 remains bad.)

Also Alice Cooper's in it!

There's a LOT of post-Scream meta horror, and most of it doesn't work. Then there's Behind the Mask, which really fucking works. Funny when it needs to be funny. Decidedly unfunny when it needs to be that, too.

"What if The Crow, but instead of coming back as a goth he just turned into a gun?"

That's Tetsuo II, baby.
