Three Category 5 hurricanes formed during this past hurricane season, the second-most on record in the Atlantic basin. The only other season with more Category 5 storms was 2005, when there were four.

Soaking rain over the past week halted the intensifying drought conditions across the state with no observed change in drought levels since the last update. 100% of the state continues to face severe drought (level 2/4) conditions or worse.
