I’m new, who’s Daphne?

Thought it was just me following a few dozen more people… this makes more sense.

You’ve seen the insane reaction from the American (and British) right? Totally understandable why govnt are still using twitter. Moral high ground comes at a cost.

So right about Facebook. Literally every post by a labour politician or local media outlet mentioning Starmer, underneath I see one highly negative comment. Nothing else unless I click. Every time. The algorithm pushes negative conflict.
January 8, 2026 at 9:09 PM
The interview is also 5 days after the invasion started, not on the same day. I know everyone is supposed to despise Starmer but some takes are getting a bit silly…

Probs wouldn’t interchange liberal with centre left on economics, but yes I see their economic policy as broadly centre left. Their politics on trans people and immigration is, for me, way too right wing. But that does, I think, reflect the median voter.
November 27, 2025 at 9:05 PM
Not here to argue bud. Genuinely think it’s funny when someone says this government is “far right”! Social policy is not liberal enough for me, but economics are pretty standard centre left no?

lol

Come and see the lampposts in south Birmingham. It’s very obvious why they are going hard (for labour) on immigration. The alternative reform government would be waaaaaaay worse.
November 27, 2025 at 8:37 PM
They didn’t, it’s just that racists are sticking flags up in their thousands to intimidate non-white people so they’re trying to shut that down before we end up with a reform government who deport millions.
November 27, 2025 at 8:35 PM
Kinda tells you why a government wanting to prevent a far-right takeover didn’t scrap it as soon as it took power! Eesh. What a country…
November 27, 2025 at 8:32 PM
Yesterday’s Morning Call. Telling us the SDs won a big election in 2022 on the back of tacking right on immigration. You’re saying the opposite is about to happen as a result. I’m confused?
November 18, 2025 at 5:35 PM
Plaid, Lib Dems, Greens, SNP. All
Liberal on immigration. No where near leading the polls. Why?
November 17, 2025 at 8:09 PM
Quite. Can right-wingers seriously keep this level of intensity up for another four years?
November 17, 2025 at 6:57 PM
I think the idea is the issue gets settled early in the parliament so reelection is not dominated by immigration. Labour can then talk about (a growing) economy and improved public services without being drowned out over small boats and asylum seekers.
