Designers have always been susceptible to shallow work. It scratches our craftsman’s itch. But I feel like it’s gotten worse in the last few years.

Some thoughts from over the weekend about designing for a deeper level of resonance: dannywhite.net/notes/resona...

I’ve been chipping away at Peels (www.peels.app) the last few months. It’s a community composting platform: a way to connect with neighbours to keep food scraps out of landfill.

A difference between a good designer and a mediocre one is the amount of times they revise a piece of work.

These NYTimes end-of-year illustration wrap-ups are the best form of ‘year wrapped’. Some of my favourites from 2024:

- José Quintanar
- Branche Coverdale
- Bill Mayer
- Yann Kebbi

Good result for Spurs but, more importantly, this IF Elfsborg logo is pure old-school Euro class.

Daunting the inevitable generic redesign to ‘fix’ the lettering, scalability, holding shape, etc
